Apply payments to invoices

In the New Payment screen, you can enter payments you receive.

Note: You should manually apply payments in the New Payment screen only if you do not receive online payments. If you set up your Stripe account for online payments, OnBalance automatically records the payment.

  1. Do one of the following.
    • In the Sales screen, click Actions > Pay Invoice for the invoice to which you want to apply payment.

      Note: You can filter invoices by date and status in the Sales screen.

    • In the Customers screen, select a customer. In the customer activity screen, click New Payment.

      Note: In the customer activity screen, click New Payment to apply a payment to a customer's record but not to a specific invoice for that customer. The customer record will then show a negative balance in the customer activity screen, and the balance will be available to apply to invoices in the future.

  2. Enter the required information.
  3. Click Save.

Note: All of the selected customer's outstanding invoices will be listed in this screen. If the amount received is greater than the amount of the invoice, you can apply the payment to other invoices listed.

    • Tap More > Customers > customer name > New Payment.
    • Tap Sales > invoice to which to apply the payment > New Payment.
  2. Enter the payment information.
  3. Tap Save.

    • Tap Sales > invoice to which to apply the payment > New Payment.
  2. Enter the payment information.
  3. Tap

The availability of some or all of these features depends on your OnBalance bundle.
