Change a category for an expense transaction

You might need to change the category for an expense transaction if, for example, you selected the wrong category when you entered the expense or you have determined that the expense applies to a different category.

You can change categories only for expense transactions that you manually entered via the Banking screen.

Note: Changing the category for an expense transaction does not change any other information for that transaction.

  1. In the Banking screen, click the row for the transaction that has a category that you want to change.
  2. Select a new category from the Category field.

    Note: If there are multiple categories for the expense, select the new category for the expense line you want to change.

  3. Click Save.

Tap >, select the expense, change the category for the expense, and click Save.


Tap >, select the expense, change the category for the expense, and click Save.

The availability of some or all of these features depends on your OnBalance bundle.
